A personal collaboration.
My name is Jesper, and I run Asaheim in Nexø on Bornholm. I began editing films in 2003, learning from Tom Elling. Since then, I have worked in film and sound production at Mindgap and Good People before going my own way with Asaheim.
The edit suite has been a big part of my working life. It is where I have worked with rhythm and the interplay between pictures and sound. Along the way, my work has expanded into camera work, lighting, sound recording, colour grading, drones, photography, and 2D and 3D graphics.
That breadth helps me choose how best to approach a project. Should we film it, build it in 3D or combine several techniques? Knowing the options and what they involve often helps me find a more direct route from the idea to the finished result.
I am curious and a bit of a nerd. During the COVID lockdowns, I spent my time developing my 3D graphics skills, and I still welcome challenges that require me to learn something new.
In my spare time, I enjoy playing modern board games and have built up quite a collection. I am also the game master for several role-playing groups and enjoy the company and the unexpected turns when players do something completely different from what I had imagined. I also love getting out into nature, and one of the best things about living on Bornholm is having so many special places close by.
A network of specialists.
At Asaheim, you work directly with me. When a project needs more hands or specialist skills, I put together a team from my network of professional filmmakers, graphic artists, web developers and sound designers.
I am happy to help with the whole production or just the part you need, based on Bornholm and drawing on experience from both local and international projects.
"Working with Jesper has been easy and enjoyable."
